Suze Ijó

Rotterdam's Suze Ijó came to DJing through dancing and collecting records, and through First Floor, a communal space in her home city where music lovers gathered to play, listen and talk in the spirit of David Mancuso's Loft parties. That ethos shapes her sets: Chicago house, eighties cuts, broken beats and soulful grooves, with a collector's reach into sounds from West Africa, South America and the West Indies. For her, house is a feeling rather than a tempo range. She has played Panorama Bar, De School, Nowadays, Smartbar and Wonderfruit, curated the Connects stage at Dekmantel Festival, recorded a Dekmantel Podcast and hosted radio on NTS and The Lot Radio.
