Efdemin

Efdemin is the techno name of Phillip Sollmann, a Berliner by choice who holds a residency at Berghain and runs the vinyl-only label naïf as an outlet for music by friends and allies. His LPs and twelve-inches have come out on Dial, Curle and Ostgut Ton, and his sound pairs elegant darkness with a discreet, patient beauty. The second album, Chicago, sits alongside the stripped-down funk of Just A Track, the urgency of Acid Bells and the directness of Bergwein. Outside the club he has remixed Depeche Mode, formed Pigon with RNDM and made drone and ambient pieces under his own name, moving as easily through the art world as through techno.
