Om Unit

Om Unit has spent the best part of 15 years interrogating bass music and rewiring it into new forms. His work is rooted in Bristol’s rich sound system culture while connecting the dots between broken beats, footwork, jungle and dub without sanding off the rough edges. As a DJ, he favours deep low-ends, mercurial percussion and uses empty space as a weapon to bend and stretch rhythms until they wobble, dissolve and snap back into focus. There’s a scientist’s curiosity to his approach, and though his sets are restless, they're always masterfully balanced.
